The Mission Statement of the Gay Straight Alliance is to develop an LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender/Transsexual, and Questioning) presence on campus and to create a safe space for LGBT and allies to build friendships. We will accomplish this mission though weekly meetings, fundraisers and events. We believe that everybody should be able to freely express their sexual orientation and identity without being discriminated against.

In light of the presence of a Hate Group on campus, and several key GSA leaders graduating in the next several months, we recognized the need to develop a club development strategy to identify the interests of club members, recruit new members and leaders, and establish a committed GSA presence on campus.
